Since October of 2010, Decades (Chico, CA) has been working around the clock learning material that spans from the 40's (Glenn Miller Band's "In The Mood") to today (Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines"). Their impressive catalogue mixed with their young talents (aged 24-27) have led to numerous achievements. Since its formation, the band has performed over 200 shows, including support for The Drifters. They've headlined several fairs, performed in venues such as The Big Room at the Sierra Nevada Brewery in Chico, Top Of The Mark in San Francisco, as well as played over 10 casinos in California & Nevada. Decades received the cover feature for 'Upgraded Living Magazine' in the Dec. 2012 issue. Regarding the band's live performances, Upgraded Living wrote, "Decades is ready to rock, and as each show proves, they do so in a way that most people did not come adequately prepared for." Decades' latest achievement has been recording their debut LP with grammy nominated producer Sylvia Massy (Prince, Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, System Of A Down), entitled "Take Me Back". The album includes 8 covers, and 4 originals, all of which were inspired by 50's rock 'n' roll. Their original song, "Little Girl", made its radio debut on 106.7 Z-Rock on August 15th, 2013. The initial idea of Decades was sparked when Billy met Will, both music majors at Chico State (since graduated), and became a realization when Toby, former bandmate to Will, joined the band. Their high energy shows mixed with their unpredictable set lists never leave the crowd disappointed.
Although in our live show we perform everything from the '40s to today, this album is meant to be a tip-of-the-hat to the generation that triggered the age of rock 'n' roll: the '50s. Produced by Grammy Nominated Producer Sylvia Massy (Prince, Johnny Cash), the album contains 12 songs total, 4 of which are '50s-inspired originals.
